Each mailbox has a size limit. When a mailbox is full, new emails can’t be delivered and may be returned to the sender, so it’s worth keeping an eye on it.
Check how much space is being used
- Select Websites in the left side bar, then select your website.
- Select Emails in the menu along the top.
The Mailbox usage bar next to each address shows how full it is. You can sort the list by mailbox usage to see the fullest first.
Change a mailbox’s size limit
- Select Websites in the left side bar, then select the website your email address belongs to.
- Select Emails in the menu along the top. You’ll see a list of your email accounts.
- Open the menu (⋮) next to the email address and select Manage.
- Under Mailbox, you’ll see the Mailbox size – how much is used, out of the limit. Select the pencil icon next to it.
- Enter the new size and save.
You also set the size when you add a new email address.
Freeing up space
- Delete old emails you no longer need, especially ones with large attachments.
- Empty your Deleted Items (or Trash) and Spam folders. Deleted emails still use space until these are emptied.
- Check your Sent folder, which can grow large over time.
- If you forward emails elsewhere and keep a copy, the copies still use space – see how to forward email to another address.
