How to install WordPress with WooCommerce

WooCommerce is a free plugin that turns WordPress into an online shop. The app installer in your Enhance panel can set up WordPress with WooCommerce already added, in a few clicks.

First, log in to your Enhance panel – see how to login to Enhance Panel.

Open the app installer

  1. Select Websites in the left side bar, then select the website you want to install on.
  2. Select Apps in the menu along the top.
  3. Select Install app.

Fill in the details

  1. Application – choose WooCommerce + WordPress.
  2. Version – the latest version is selected for you. Leave this as it is unless you need an older version for a particular reason.
  3. Domain – choose the domain to install on. Leave the box after the / empty to install on the main address, for example yourdomain.com, or enter a folder name, for example blog, to install at yourdomain.com/blog.

Under Woocommerce admin account, enter the login details you’ll use to manage your website:

  • Username – avoid obvious names such as admin, which attackers try first
  • Email address – used for password resets and important notifications, so use an address you check
  • Password and Confirm password – at least 10 characters, including a lowercase letter, an uppercase letter, a number and a special character. Select the key icon to generate a strong one.

Select Install. It only takes a moment.

Keep a note of your username and password somewhere safe, such as a password manager. They’re the keys to your website.

Install on a new, empty website or folder. If there’s already a website at that address, installing over it could overwrite it. If you’re not sure, take a backup first, or ask us.

After installing

Your new shop appears in the Applications box on your website’s home page, and on the Apps page. It’s managed just like any other WordPress site:

When you first log in, WooCommerce will guide you through setting up your shop, such as your address, currency, payments and shipping.

Your shop will handle customer details and orders, so security matters. Make sure Force HTTPS is turned on – see how SSL certificates work on your website – and keep WordPress, WooCommerce and your plugins up to date.

We look after your hosting, but WordPress, WooCommerce and their plugins are made by other developers – see do you support WordPress plugins and themes.
