Email settings reference IMAP SMTP ports and security

Use these settings to add your PAC email account to any device or email program that isn’t covered by our step-by-step guides. If you use a common app or device, we have dedicated guides for iPhone/iPad, Android, Apple Mail, Outlook (Windows) and Thunderbird too.

We recommend IMAP as it keeps your email in sync across all your devices, so when you read or delete a message in one place it updates everywhere.

Replace yourdomain.com with your own domain name throughout. In almost all cases your mail server is simply mail. followed by your domain.

Setting Value
Username Your full email address (e.g. you@yourdomain.com)
Password Your mailbox password
Incoming server (IMAP) mail.yourdomain.com
Incoming port 993
Incoming security SSL/TLS
Outgoing server (SMTP) mail.yourdomain.com
Outgoing port 465 (or 587 with STARTTLS)
Outgoing security SSL/TLS
Outgoing authentication Required – same username and password

If you prefer POP3

We recommend IMAP for almost everyone, but if you specifically need POP3 (which downloads mail to a single device and removes it from the server), use these incoming settings instead. Outgoing (SMTP) settings stay the same as above.

Setting Value
Incoming server (POP3) mail.yourdomain.com
Incoming port 995
Incoming security SSL/TLS

The outgoing (SMTP) server needs your full email address and password too, even if the app suggests they are optional. Without them you will be able to receive email but not send it.

Webmail

You don’t need to set anything up to use webmail – just log in from any browser. See how to login to webmail.

Not receiving or sending mail? First check webmail in a browser to confirm your address and password are correct, then double-check the server name is mail.yourdomain.com and that SSL is switched on. If you are still stuck please try this email help guide first and if you still have problems contact our support team and we will be happy to help.
