How to renew your domain name

You need to be logged into your PAC Client Area to manage your domains. Your Client Area (pacwebhosting.uk/mydomains) is where you manage domains – it is separate from Enhance Panel, where you manage hosting and email.

Auto-renew is switched on for every domain by default, so in most cases there’s nothing you need to do. Here’s how renewals work, and how to renew early if you’d like to.

How renewals work

  • To protect your domain, we set the renewal due date 14 days before the actual expiry date. That leaves time to sort out any payment problem, such as an expired card, before the registry could suspend the domain.
  • We email the renewal invoice in advance of the due date. You can view your invoices in the Client Area at any time.
  • If you’ve paid by card, PayPal or Direct Debit, we take payment automatically.
  • Renewals are charged at our current price for that extension when the renewal invoice is raised.

Renewing early or adding extra years

You can renew early, and add extra years, at any time from the Client Area, up to the maximum the registry allows (usually 10 years in total). The extra years are added on to your current expiry date, so you don’t lose any time by renewing early.

  1. Go to pacwebhosting.uk/mydomains. You’ll see each domain’s expiry date.
  2. Use the Renew option (also available under Domains > Renew Domains).
  3. Choose how many years to add, and complete the checkout.

Please leave auto-renew switched on

Turning off auto-renew tells us you no longer want the domain. We then won’t raise a renewal invoice or send renewal reminders, and the domain will expire and be lost. Please only turn it off if you’re sure you no longer need the domain, or if you’re transferring it to another provider.

What happens if a domain expires

If a renewal isn’t paid, the domain will expire and may stop working, including your website and email. Registries have grace and redemption periods, which vary by extension. Restoring a domain in its redemption period costs extra, and the registry’s redemption fee is payable by you. After that, the domain can be cancelled and registered by someone else.

Domain registrations and renewals can’t be refunded once they’ve been submitted to the registry, and aren’t covered by our money-back guarantee.

The full wording is in clauses 3.1 to 3.5 of our Domain Registration Terms.
