Will my price go up when my service renews?

We believe in being upfront about pricing, so here’s exactly how it works.

A price change never affects time you’ve already paid for

We may change our prices from time to time, but a change never affects a period you’ve already paid for.

You’ll see the price before you renew

Your renewal invoice is emailed 14 days before your renewal date. It’s charged at our current published price and shows the price for the next period.

If the new price is higher than you paid before, you can cancel before the renewal date and you won’t be charged. See how to cancel a service.

Domain renewals work the same way: they’re charged at our current price for that extension when the renewal invoice is raised.

How VAT is shown

We show every price both excluding VAT and including VAT at the current UK rate (20%), so you can always see exactly what you’ll pay. Where UK VAT applies, you pay the VAT-inclusive price, and your invoice shows the VAT separately.

Upgrading or downgrading

You can change your hosting package at any time from the client area.

  • Upgrades take effect straight away. We credit the unused part of your current plan on a pro-rata daily basis, and charge the new plan for the same period.
  • Downgrades take effect straight away. There’s no refund or credit for the rest of your current billing period, and the new, lower price applies from your next renewal.

Before downgrading, check your usage fits the smaller plan’s limits. If it doesn’t, we’ll move you back to your previous plan at no extra charge and let you know, so you can reduce your usage and try again.

The full wording is in clauses 4.1, 4.5 and 4.6 of our Terms of Service and clause 3.3 of our Domain Registration Terms.
