Adding an Alias domain

To do this you first need to be logged into enhance panel you can learn how to do this HERE then come back to this article.

How to add a domain to point to an existing website

Adding a domain to point to an existing website has to be done from within the relevant website in your enhance control panel.

This functionality is called an alias domain and it is used when you have multiple domains you want to show or redirect to your primary domain showing the same content. For example you may have domain.com as your primary domain but you want to add domain.co.uk as an alias to redirect to domain.com and show the same content.

To add your alias domain into an existing website first list your websites by clicking as shown below

Choose the existing website to add it to

From the list of your websites click the line of the relevant website to enter management for that website as shown below

You can only add an alias domain to a production website, so any websites listed prefixed with STG (Staging) will not have this functionality.

View the domains within this website

To do this click Domains as shown below

You will now see a list of domains

This list of domains are domains that reside within the domain you are managing, this is the one you selected from your main list of domains above.

Now click “Add Domain” as shown on the screenshot below

Now add your alias domain

First select Alias (1 in the screenshot below) then enter the name of the alias domain (2 in the screenshot below)

Finally choose to redirect the alias domain you’re adding to the primary domain (3 in the screenshot below

Unless you have a specific use case not to redirect the alias to your primary domain then always tick the box to redirect to the primary domain. this will be the case for almost all uses of aliases so if you are unsure always tick that box to let the system take care of the redirect for you.

Once done just click “Add” and your alias domain is added.
