What happens to my data when I leave PAC?

Whether you’re leaving us or just closing one service, here’s exactly what happens to your data.

Take a copy first

You can download your data at any time through your control panel, or ask us for a copy. We’d recommend doing this before a service ends.

After a service ends

WhenWhat happens
For 30 days after the service endsYour content is kept so you can ask us for a copy
After 30 daysYour content is deleted from our live systems
Within a further 30 daysBackup copies are overwritten

Once your data has been deleted, it can’t be recovered. Please make sure you have everything you need.

Backup files you’ve made yourself

Backup files you create in your control panel may be deleted automatically after 7 days to save space, so please download any you want to keep.

Records we keep after you leave

We’re required to keep some records for legal, tax and accounting reasons. Most account, billing and support records are kept for 6 years after your account closes. Call recordings are deleted automatically after 6 months.

Your domains

Your domains are registered in your name, and they’re yours to move – we won’t charge a fee or hold them back without good reason. If you’re leaving, transfer them to your new provider before they’re due for renewal. See how to transfer a domain away.

The full wording is in clauses 8.6 and 13.3 of our Terms of Service, clause 9 of our Data Processing Agreement, section 8 of our Privacy Policy and clause 4.1 of our Domain Registration Terms.

Any questions about this? Please contact our support team and we’ll be happy to help.
