How to update your domain’s contact details

You need to be logged into your PAC Client Area to manage your domains. Your Client Area (pacwebhosting.uk/mydomains) is where you manage domains – it is separate from Enhance Panel, where you manage hosting and email.

Every domain is registered in the name of its registrant – that’s you or your organisation, not PAC. We act as your agent in registering it, and you remain the legal owner. The registrant’s contact details are held by the registry, so it’s important to keep them accurate.

Registries can suspend or cancel domains with false or out-of-date details. Please keep your registrant details current, especially your email address, as it’s used for important notices and verification requests.

Open your domain

Go to pacwebhosting.uk/mydomains (or click Domains from the Client Area menu). You will see a list of all the domains registered or transferred to your account. Click the domain you want to manage, or the Manage button next to it.

Open Contact Information

From the domain’s management menu, click Contact Information.

Update and save

Edit the details as needed, then save your changes.

Changing your account’s general details won’t always change a domain’s registered contact – update the domain’s Contact Information directly to be sure.

For .uk domains, the registrant’s legal type (for example individual, limited company or sole trader) also needs to be correct. See Domain Configuration Help (Registering) for which to choose.

Watch out for a verification email

For many extensions, the registry or registrar will email you to verify your details, for example after a new registration or a change of registrant.

If you don’t respond within the time given, usually 15 days, the domain may be suspended until you do. Check your spam or junk folder if you’re expecting one and it hasn’t arrived.

Changing the registrant affects transfers

A change of registrant can stop the domain being transferred to another provider for 60 days. If you’re planning to move the domain, it’s usually best to transfer it first and update the registrant afterwards.

The full wording is in clauses 2.1 to 2.3 and 4.2 of our Domain Registration Terms.
